We collect details to ensure a safe, efficient, and transparent gig transaction flow:

  • Profile Information: Full name, phone number, email address, profile picture. For professionals, we collect trade credentials, skills portfolios, and work radius preferences.
  • KYC and Aadhaar Verification Data: For Karyak Pro workers, we collect Aadhaar numbers and ID photos. This data is securely processed via approved government API verification routes to issue "Verified" badges.
  • Location Data: To match requests, we collect high-precision GPS coordinates from both customers and workers. Workers' locations are tracked in the background when their status is set to "Active".
  • Transaction & Escrow Details: Payout coordinates, transaction history, and wallet deposit amounts processed securely through our payment escrow gateway integration.
  • Communications: Call logs and messages between customers and workers. Original phone numbers are hidden behind VoIP masked systems to prevent personal exposure.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is utilized strictly to provide, improve, and secure our technology platform services:

  • To match service seekers with the nearest active, qualified professionals in their area.
  • To manage payments securely and coordinate the release of escrow funds upon satisfactory task completion.
  • To perform national verification checks (Aadhaar KYC) to build community trust.
  • To resolve dispute logs (quality issues, cancellation claims) submitted to our admin control panel.
  • To auto-compile and distribute legally compliant PDF invoices.

3. Phone Number Masking

To protect your privacy and reduce harassment, Karyak implements automatic phone number masking. When you call a worker or a customer through the app, original phone numbers are never visible. Connections are routed through VoIP channels, maintaining total privacy for both customers and professionals.

4. Data Security

We deploy robust encryption protocols to secure all sensitive user assets. Aadhaar details are encrypted in transit and at rest. Financial transaction coordinates are securely handled directly by Razorpay/UPI gateway systems. We do not store credit/debit card numbers on our local databases.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal details only as long as necessary to fulfill the services outlined or to comply with statutory legal requirements. If you delete your Karyak account, we will erase or anonymize your personal files, except where required by taxation (GST compliance) or legal audit trails.
